Alberto Pani
Founding partner and CEO of e3. Mr. Pani has more than 17 years of combined experience in financial and energy markets. Prior to founding e3, Mr. Pani was the Chief Investment Officer at Promecap where he managed a global diversified portfolio of conventional and alternative assets.
Before joining Promecap, Alberto was a Managing Member and portfolio manager for Pani, Bekaert, Pluim Capital, LLC a global macro Hedge Fund. Previously, he was the Chief of Staff of the undersecretary of power, in the Ministry of Energy in Mexico where he headed the government's efforts in power sector reform.
During his time at the Ministry of Energy, he met his fellow e3 founding members. He holds a B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and a graduate degree in Dynamic Econometric Systems from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico.
He wrote his thesis on cointegration models for long run equilibrium in fossil fuel prices. Mr. Pani received his M.B.A. degree from the Haas Graduate School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
German Sandoval
Is a founding partner and head of Institutional Relations and Finance of e3. Mr. Sandoval has more than 48 years of experience in the infrastructure project financing. For a long period he was in charge of negotiating most of the investment and credit facilities as the financial agent of the Mexican government from all the multilateral, bilateral, regional and the national and international investment and banking communities.
Mr. Sandoval was appointed CEO of BANOBRAS. In this role he participated in the formulation of the programs to induce the participation of the private sector for the construction and operation of large investments in the toll roads, water supply and waste management projects. In the power sector, German worked as the CFO for CFE and headed the interinstitutional team for the designing of the projects called “PIDIREGAS”, which contributed substantially to increase CFE’s generation and transmission capacities.
Anselmo Sanchez
Anselmo is a founding partner and head of market operations of e3. Mr. Sanchez is an expert in Mexico's energy market, with over 35 years of experience working in Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) and other entities within the Mexican Power Sector.
Mr. Sanchez was in charge of planning and economic operations of the National Electrical System in the Centro Nacional de Control de Energia (CENACE), the system’s centralized dispatcher. While at CENACE, Anselmo led the team mandated with the design and implementation of the of CFE’s internal Market.
Mr. Sanchez was an advisor at the National Research Institute of Electricity and Clean Energies (INEEL) where he collaborated in the design of systems and operation protocols for Mexico's new complex power market. Mr. Sanchez holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering and Power Systems from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of the National Polytechnic Institute and BS in Electromechanical Engineering from the ITM.
Gustavo Salvador
Gustavo is a founding partner and a Board member of e3 he is an expert in Dispatch and Control of Electric Power Systems, with more than 39 years of experience in the Energy Industry.
Mr Salvador joined the Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) in 1977, where he held several positions. In 2002 he was appointed Director Centro Nacional de Control de Energia (CENACE), the system’s centralized dispatcher, a position he held until 2010. It was under his purview that the CFE’s internal energy market was designed and implemented.
While at CENACE he developed the modernization of the 8 Regional Control Centers, The National Control Center and the Back Up Control Center of CENACE, with the highest technology in EMS, and Dispatch and Control, of Electric Power Systems. Mr. Salvador is an Electric Engineer by the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua, and has a Master’s in Electric Power Systems by the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.
